About Heidi

I began my financial services career in 2002 working for an insurance giant selling life cover door-to-door, followed by various financial administration roles for smaller firms and then eventually a national accountancy firm.

After getting some qualifications and experience, I became a paraplanner and established my own paraplanning business in what was a relatively new role in the UK at that time. In 2009, I helped the Financial Services Skills Council to develop National Occupational Standards for Paraplanning.

I started working with Aretian Wealth in 2021 and it’s a good feeling to be valued member of a modern and client-focused company.

The part of my job I enjoy the most...

I enjoy working behind the scenes carrying out research, analysis, writing suitability reports and offering fresh opinions on how to meet client objectives.

When I'm not at work, you'll find me...

I’ll be hiding in a corner practicing the guitar or buried in a book, but on the other hand I’ll also be spending time with my family and friends, often with a drink in hand and ideally with some live music involved.

Nice to meet you

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

My morning routine of a cup of tea followed by two cups of coffee.

What makes you laugh?

It’s cruel, but I get hysterical if I see anyone trip up.

If you had to take part in Karaoke, what would be your song of choice?

No Doubt – Don’t Speak.

Which celebrity would you most like to meet up for a coffee / glass of wine and why?

If he was alive, George Harrison. Would love to listen to some stories about the band, discuss his spirituality and hopefully he would throw in a cheeky guitar lesson.

What’s on your bucket list?

One day, I would love to spend a year in a shabby little apartment in a chic European city (haven’t decided which one yet) and write a novel.

What three items would you take with you to a desert island?

Guitar, Kindle and sunglasses.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?

My 9 year old son, Jack. His inquisitive mind never ceases to amuse me; I really wish I had started years ago writing down his most bizarre question of the day, it would make for a great book!

Have you ever met anyone famous? – story please!

Jon Bon Jovi gave me a high five – and I missed.

What is the best gift you’ve ever been given?

My late Dad gifted me his beloved 1979  Spanish classical guitar on a promise I’d learn to play it, which I am now doing.
