About Josh

After ten years in the field of Aeronautical Engineering I found my true passion of investing and helping people achieve their most important personal objectives. It was perfect when I secured the opportunity to be part of the Client Services Team at Aretian Wealth Management in 2021.

Having changed industries I bring with me a range of interpersonal skills and enjoy the challenges of working with people and keeping clients really happy.

I have successfully completed the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and attained a distinction in the apprenticeship program. I am excited to continue my journey towards becoming a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser with the invaluable support of the Aretian Wealth Management team.

The part of my job I enjoy the most...

Exceeding client expectations.

When I'm not at work, you'll find me...

Keeping my body healthy by keeping fit in some shape or form, whether it’s; badminton, swimming, golf, surfing, skiing or yoga, I’ll get involved in pretty much anything.

Then keeping my soul healthy, I’ll read or listen to enhancing books such as; Awaken the Giant Within (by Tony Robbins), Crushing It! (by Gary Vaynerchuk), High Performance (by Jake Humphrey & Damian Hughes), Rich Dad Poor Dad (by Robert Kiyosaki) and Mental Fitness (by Ant Middleton) to name a few.

That then leaves keeping my brain healthy, therefore I’ll be exploring the investing world. That may be researching the latest developments in; the Virtual/Augmented Reality environment, views on the markets or simply getting stuck into the next professional qualification.

Nice to meet you

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Water. Tap or bottled, I don’t care. I could stay hydrated with juice, tea, cola etc but I need the plain taste of water.

What makes you laugh?

Anything silly to be honest, like an impression of someone or a terrible joke.

If you had to take part in Karaoke, what would be your song of choice?

“Tequila” by The Champs. The extension of my singing ability only stretches to one word.

Which celebrity would you most like to meet up for a coffee / glass of wine and why?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  His drive and constant energy to excel is extremely admirable. Just being able to chat for a small amount of time would surely set me on an unknown and exciting trajectory to achieve unbelievable heights.

What’s on your bucket list?

Go to the moon. It’s starting to become a real possibility in my lifetime.

What three items would you take with you to a desert island?

An axe, a fire-starter and a pair of swimming goggles.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?

Realising life is what I want it to be. I can achieve whatever I want. Get knocked down and get back up again (queue the music).

Have you ever met anyone famous? – story please!

Jack Whitehall. Twice!

It wasn’t just coincidence unfortunately. I was going to see his stand-up show at the O2 and managed to get the meet-and-greet tickets as well. Similar time again, Jack was doing a charity comedy show “Christmas with my Father” in a school hall, and again managed to wait in line for meet-and-greet. Both times it’s not been much more than a “Hi, you’re a funny bloke… sometimes”.

What is the best gift you’ve ever been given?

Gold and Silver. Come on, makes you feel like royalty.
